National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in July introduced me to a wonderful resource that I would like to share with you. The Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC) Network accelerates the implementation of effective interventions for mental health prevention, treatment, and recovery.
After spending the last few years with teens and their families through our local high school, where they asked for help and hoped to find access to networks, the MHTTC site is worth a look. Their collaborators are found across the nation, and the lists for training, counseling, and upcoming events is just the beginning of resources and products.
Toolkits are available from a variety of organizations in order to give minority groups and their allies tools to deal with the various problems they face.
The U.S. Department of Health & Human Servies additionally offers a “Language Assistance” option for those who prefer information in their native language.
Thanks to MHTTC and their ever-evolving website!
