Looking for information and education on Cyber Security? We just attended a presentation on how to make your small business cyber secure utilizing Project Spectrum. Project Spectrum has an all-inclusive learning platform that provides resources, tools, and training materials and videos about cybersecurity best practices. Learn what is underway and how to become certified.
Project Spectrum is the latest tool in America’s cybersecurity portfolio. An interactive platform, Project Spectrum helps small and medium-sized businesses, as well as Universities, enhance their cyber-awareness of and readiness for cyberattacks targeting American innovation and intellectual property (IP).
As the Department of Defense (DoD) has turned its attention towards cybersecurity deficiencies within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), it has established the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) as its solution for protecting the DIB from cyber threats. CMMC, which requires implementation of the cybersecurity safeguards outlined in NIST SP 800-171, is both expensive and time-consuming to put in place, especially for small- to mid-size contractors. Additionally, many of these contractors lack the resources and technical/policy acumen needed to interpret and meet CMMC requirements. The DoD has launched Project Spectrum, an initiative for providing resources and training related to CMMC compliance as well as general cybersecurity for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) in the DIB.
